    Welcoming Economies Workshop by Welcoming America:

    This training reviews the array of programs and strategies that other communities have pioneered to help include immigrants in the local community and economic development efforts. Participants will learn how to connect immigrant inclusion to regional economic development efforts and consider what models could work best in their community.

    Storytelling Workshop and Demo by International Institute of New England: 

    This specialized program offers an overview of how migration and culture can be explored through the lens of personal narrative. Participants will hear from local storytellers, consider how migration and culture shape both personal identity and workplace communities, and learn storytelling tips that are applicable to work and personal goals.

    Reception with Mayor Martin J. Walsh

    The reception will include a presentation on MOIA's strategic plan by Director Yusufi Vali and a special announcement on the Greater Boston Immigrant Defense Fund by Mayor Walsh, along with an opportunity to network with a number of corporations, foundations and community groups committed to advancing our immigrant residents in Boston and beyond.

    Second annual City of Boston Unity Cup

    This soccer tournament will feature sixteen flag-bearing nations competing in a World Cup-style tournament July 12 - 14.

    The citywide tournament brings together Boston's diverse community around a shared passion for sport. It is a moment to celebrate the cultures and nationalities of Bostonians in a safe environment that promotes sportsmanship, collaboration and acceptance.

    The tournament will be comprised of sixteen flag-bearing nations who will vie for the first annual Unity Cup during the weekend of July 12 - 14 at Moakley Park in South Boston.

    About the event

    Represented nations include the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Somalia, Mexico, El Salvador, Angola, Chile, the United States, Guatemala, Vietnam, Haiti, Ireland, France, China, Nigeria, and Brazil.

    Festivities kick off with the first round of games on Friday, July 12. Festivities conclude with a Parade of Nations and the final match on Sunday, July 14. Activities for fans and families include youth soccer clinics, giveaways, a FIFA19 play station, ice cream, and more.
