Pools and Splash Pads

As a coastal city, our pools provide generations of Boston residents with a safe place to learn how to swim, to cool off, and to have fun. The City of Boston operates 21 pools citywide, in addition to splash pads and sites operated by partner organizations.

To find the hours for community center pools, click on the links in the pop-ups on the map below. If you have questions about a community center pool, please contact the community center directly.

Splash pads are usually open mid-June to mid-September, from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Find issues at a spray park? Contact the Park Line at 617-635-7275, or dial 3-1-1.

Find information on free swim lessons offered through Mayor Wu’s Swim Safe Boston, and details on pool facilities and aquatics programming near you below.

Years of deferred maintenance has resulted in some temporary pool closures. Mayor Wu is working to get these pools back open quickly, including by launching a city-wide assessment of all pools and allocating $34.3 million in the FY24-FY28 capital plan for repairing and renovating the city's pools. Learn more about the status of city pools.
