City Council meeting

The City Council is holding a virtual meeting on February 2 at 12 p.m.

All Council Meetings are held at 12 p.m. (noon) in the Christopher A. Iannella Chamber on the fifth floor of Boston City Hall, unless otherwise noted. All meetings are open to the public and are also available on Xfinity Channel 8, RCN 82, Fios 964, and livestream via City Council TV.

    0222    Message and order for your approval a Home Rule petition to the General Court entitled “ Petition for a Special Law Re: An Act Relative to Real Estate Transfer Fees and Senior Property Tax Relief”.

        0223    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00) in the form of a grant for the FY22 Municipal ADA Improvement Grant Program, awarded by the Massachusetts Office on Disability to be administered by the Commission for Person with Disabilities. The grant will fund the installation of a vertical lift to the third floor mezzanine.

        0224    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Nine Thousand Dollars ($9,000.00) in the form of a grant, for the BU Research Pilot Project, awarded by Boston University School of Social Work to be administered by the Police Department. The grant will fund a research partnership with Boston University and the University of Massachusetts Lowell to examine Boston Police Department response to mental and behavioral health related calls for service in the Boston Public Schools. The funds will cover staff overtime required to redact personal data from student records.

The Grant Payment is made from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund in the Treasury of the United States established by Section 9901 of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
