MANDATORY EMERGENCY HEARING FOR SOUTH BOSTON, SECTION 15 RETAIL PACKAGE STORE LICENSEES
The Licensing Board for the City of Boston (the “Board”) is holding a virtual mandatory emergency hearing for all South Boston Section 15 Retail Package Stores (the “Package Store Licensees”) on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 9:00a.m.
This hearing is being held to discuss the delivery of alcoholic beverages by Package Store Licensees directly to consumers at public spaces including, but not limited to, parks and beaches in South Boston. The hearing will also address the legal requirements of M.G.L. ch. 138 s. 22 for the delivery of alcoholic beverages directly to consumers by Package Store Licensees. Section 12 Licensees do not need to attend this hearing.
Attendance at the hearing is mandatory and will be taken. Failure of any Package Store Licensee to attend the hearing may result in disciplinary action by the Board including, but not limited to, the suspension or revocation of any license issued by the Board.
This hearing will be held pursuant to the provisions of M.G.L. ch. 30 s. 20, M.G.L. ch. 140 s. 22 and s. 30, the Board’s Rules and Regulations, and Governor Charles Baker’s executive order (the “Order”) issued March 22, 2020, temporarily modifying certain requirements of the Open Meeting Law (M.G.L. ch. 30A s. 20) due to the ongoing public health crisis due to Covid-19 (coronavirus).
