Ms. Foley leads the historic preservation program for the City of Boston, which includes the Boston Landmarks Commission, nine Historic Districts Commissions, and the City’s Archaeology Program, within the Environment, Energy, and Open Space Cabinet.

Previously, as the Executive Director at Fields Corner Main Street, Ms. Foley built relationships among residents, merchants, and institutions to support local economic development in a historic commercial center in Dorchester. Her broad range of previous work and volunteer experiences includes creating diverse arts and culture community partnerships (Dorchester Arts Collaborative, Dorchester Historical Society) to catalyze local cultural economy, leading the GreenDorchester grassroots environmental action collaborative, and helping to launch Boston’s first neighborhood bike advocacy group DotBike, two farmers’ markets including Boston’s first winter market, and a food co-op.

Ms. Foley has served in leadership and advisory roles for City and State including the City of Boston’s Complete Streets Interagency Group, and Urban Agriculture Working Group, Ashmont MBTA Station Citizens Advisory Committee, and the first Metropolitan Beaches Commission.

Foley has a B.A. History from Northeastern University, and resides in Dorchester with her husband, daughter and grandson.
