As of January 2023, the City of Boston Scholarship Fund is focused on supporting current scholarship recipients and will not accept any new applicants this year. Our team is continuing to explore new ways that the City can have an impact and support young people as they pursue higher education.

Scholarship Fund Background
Since 1995, we have awarded scholarships to over 1,200 students. As of 2023, the Fund supports 75 current recipients as they pursue their education.
AWARD AMOUNT AND LENGTHRecipients that are current college students receive up to $10,000 over the course of four years ($2,500 for each year). Continuing education students receive up to $5,000 over the course of two years ($2,500 for each year).
ELIGIBILITYOur current scholarship recipients will remain eligible as long as they remain in good academic standing with their school. If you are a current recipient, you can renew your scholarship for the 2023-2024 school year at this link.
The committee makes the final decision on who is awarded scholarships. Over the last 30 years, we’ve given financial support to more than 1,200 residents to further their education.
