An abatement is a reduction in your property taxes. You have two options when submitting a personal property abatement application:
Get your application ready
To file a Personal Property Abatement application, you need to meet these requirements:
- You can only submit an application after your third-quarter tax bill and no later than February 1, 2024.
- You can only file an abatement for the current fiscal year. You can’t file an application for previous years.
- The Assessing Department has three months to review your application and respond.
You must file the Asset Listing Form with the Abatement application IF:
- you did not file a State Tax Form 2/Form of List for Fiscal Year 2024, OR
- you filed an incomplete State Tax Form 2/Form of List.
