You can provide public comment on a proposed amendment to the cable television license between the City and Verizon.
Martin J. Walsh, Mayor of the City of Boston and Issuing Authority for cable television licenses (“City” or “Issuing Authority”), hereby provides notice of a proposed amendment (“Amendment”) to the December 5, 2016 Cable Television License (“Final License”) between the City and Verizon New England, Inc. (“Verizon”). The Amendment will:
- expand the Service Area in the Final License to include parts of Hyde Park, Roslindale, Jamaica Plain, Roxbury and South Boston;
- confirm the parties’ agreement on the geographic area covered by the expanded Service Area (an increase from approximately 28% to 56% of the City);
- implement upward adjustments to certain values in the Final License to reflect the new expanded Service Area;
- confirm additions to Public Institutional Network locations and public buildings receiving free connections to Basic Cable Television Service; and
- not otherwise change the terms of the Final License.
We are receiving public comment on both documents until 5 p.m. close of business on Friday, September 22, 2017.
