City Council adopts Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan
This week, the Council voted to pass a resolution for the adoption of the plan.
The City of Boston established an Executive Steering Committee to prepare the 2021 Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. The 2021 Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan contains recommendations for several potential projects to mitigate impacts from future hazards and disasters as well as climate change.
This week, the Council voted to pass a resolution for the adoption of the plan. Adoption of the 2021 Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan by the Boston City Council was critical in order to move forward with the acceptance of Pre-Disaster Mitigation Assistance and for becoming eligible for FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure grant funding.
