Jonathan DeFreese
Jonathan DeFreese is the Program Coordinator II for the Case Management Training Program in the Education and Community Engagement Division of the Infectious Disease Bureau. Mr. DeFreese earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He has been with the Boston Public Health Commission for four years, working for both the Education and Community Engagement Division and the Ryan White Services Division. Mr. DeFreese has over 15 years of experience working in the field of HIV/AIDS. Prior to coming to the Commission, he spent ten years working in Operations, Data Management, Strategic Planning, and Division Leadership for a local AIDS Service Organization. Prior to working in the HIV/AIDS field, he spent over five years working for a group home that specifically served high-risk GLBTQI youth. Mr. DeFreese has a strong background in contract management, data and reporting evaluation, and quality assurance. His passion is deeply rooted in challenging social and economic disparities that prevent underserved populations from having equity and access to resources necessary to achieve their true potential.
