This program branches out in two sections:

• direct community work
• funding community organizations' prevention work

The mission of this program is to get Boston residents the necessary information to protect themselves from communicable diseases. Infection prevention requires accessible, comprehensive, and culturally appropriate information.

Boston EMA Ryan White Planning Council Support (PCS)

This program provides planning and support services to the Boston Part A EMA Planning Council, including:

• research
• dissemination of information
• leadership
• skills building for PC members

The Planning Council is a federally required, volunteer-based, independent planning body, appointed by the Mayor of Boston. The members organize and allocate Ryan White Part A HIV funding in the Boston Eligible Metropolitan Area. Council members assess needs and determine how to meet them across ten counties in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  

Materials for Funded Providers

The mission of the Education and Outreach Office of the Boston Public Health Commission’s Infectious Disease Bureau is to ensure Boston residents have the necessary information to protect themselves from communicable diseases. Infection prevention requires available comprehensive, culturally appropriate information.

This program hosts training for case managers serving people living with HIV in the eligible metropolitan area. The mission of the program is to empower case managers to work as a community. The program helps them provide consistent, comprehensive care to people living with HIV.
