Father Friendly

The Father Friendly Initiative gives men the opportunity to involve themselves in their families and communities.

We strive to help fathers become more involved with their families before, during, and after the birth of their children.

A family focused service program

The Father Friendly Initiative gives men the opportunity to involve themselves in their families and communities. The program is open to men living in Boston. It is a safe haven for men to get together.

We strive to help fathers become more involved with their families before, during, and after the birth of their children. The initiative encourages participants to become emotional, financial, and nurturing resources for their children. We serve all fathers with the opportunities needed to change economic situations and achieve life goals.

Fathers play an important role in the lives of their children. Being active and supportive family members contribute to children's emotional wellbeing.

The initiative is a case management service designed to support the full integration of dads in the family system. It targets men with child support, custody/visitation, or court-involved issues. It is a comprehensive case management program that accommodates the psychological, physical, and social support men need.

Services are in a comprehensive program. The program includes:

  • ensuring that all men enrolled in the program have medical insurance
  • substance abuse referrals
  • anger management counseling
  • parenting skills
  • support groups
  • employment/education
  • custody/visitation and housing

Additionally, clients can take part in a 13-lesson culturally sensitive curriculum.
