The 9th annual BPS District-wide Summer Commencement will be held at 6 p.m. at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. This special ceremony is designed to recognize students who were not able to walk with their peers in June for a variety of reasons, or who worked throughout the summer to achieve their goal of graduating as part of the Boston Public Schools Class of 2016.

Students took advantage of summer school and summer learning programs, such as the credit recovery program, to fulfill their requirements for a high school degree.

Superintendent Tommy Chang, Boston School Committee Members, and more than 200 students and their families will attend the event.
