We look forward to talking with you about the future of Washington Street.
The City is looking to extend the existing inbound Washington Street bus lane in Roslindale. This project would extend the lane from Albano Street to the existing lane at Poplar Street.
Hours of operation would remain the same as the existing lane (5 - 10 a.m.).
Enjoy free food courtesy of the Transportation Department and learn about the work the City is doing to improve access to JFK/UMass Station. Share your input and help us improve conditions in and around the Station!
We want to hear from you! Help us identify problem areas along Columbia Road, Mt. Vernon Street, and other corridors approaching the Station, and help us make recommendations for the future of this important transit hub. Staff from the Transportation Department, the MBTA, the Boston Planning and Development Agency, and the Office of Neighborhood Services will be on-hand to answer questions, gather input, and facilitate discussions.
This event is hosted at the Boston Collegiate Charter School Lower School Campus on Sydney Street, a short walk from JFK/UMass Station. Accessible parking is available, and street parking is available after 4 p.m. Food from neighborhood restaurants will be provided, and there will be children's activities.
To request a disability accommodation and/or language services, please contact: Matthew Petersen, matthew.petersen@boston.gov, (617) 635-1453, as soon as possible. Please allow at least two weeks to arrange for accommodations. For more information, visit the project website.
The Columbia Savin Hill Civic Association is hosting a community cleanup!
We will begin street cleaning at Buttonwood St. and we will make our way toward Savin Hill Ave. We then plan to make our way over at McConnell Park in Dorchester and finish with a cleanup at that location.
This will be a shared corporate (with John Hancock Investments) and community event (with Columbia Savin Hill Civic Association) that will bring community members together with residents to beautify and make a small area of a larger Dorchester shine. This will be an opportunity to allow neighbors who may need assistance with some yard cleanup to submit their address to Columbia Savin Hill Civic Association and have volunteers assist residents.
