Engine 17 Fire Station
The demolition and new construction of the Engine 17 Firehouse in Dorchester features a combination of massing, window louvers, and brick and stone to integrate the civic building into a historic residential district.
The project includes a ground floor with a public entrance, apparatus bays, and technical space. The second floor has a kitchen, dining area, fitness space, and staff offices. The third-floor penthouse features mechanical spaces and storage. The building is in compliance with the City's containment and air quality requirements to enhance firefighter health.
