Christian Garcia
Arriving in Boston in 2020 with only two suitcases and a backpack, Christian Garcia began working on his master’s degree in Human Resources Management at Northeastern University. Originally from Laurel, Mississippi, as a Latino in the LGBTQIA+ community, Garcia grew a passion for creating a workplace environment where equality and equity are at the forefront of the organization. Shortly after arriving in Boston, Garcia began work at Fenway Health, an LGBTQIA+ health care, research, and advocacy organization in the Human Resources department. While there, he held various positions, including roles in benefits administration and employee training.
Garcia joined the City of Boston in 2022 as the Manager, Training, and Development within the Office of Human Resources. In the same year, he finished his master’s degree program.
Currently, he oversees citywide training and development programs in collaboration with City leaders to enhance and upskill the City’s workforce. He is a Latinx ERG Leadership Board member as the Communications Officer and a Leadership Team member of the LGBTQ ERG for the City of Boston.
