Adeola Ebekozien
Adeola Ebekozien is the Deputy Director of the Office of Youth Employment and Opportunity (YEO). In this role, she focuses on the strategic, operational, and financial responsibilities of the department by overseeing the development and build out of internal systems, training and development, grant administration, and evaluating impact – with the goal of increasing access and opportunities for Boston’s young people across employment, workforce and career readiness.
Most recently, Adeola was the Deputy Director at the Somali Development Center in Boston, where her role included fundraising & budget management, operations, developing strategic partnerships, community engagement and restructuring their programs using the lens of equity. She worked closely with immigrants, refugees and humanitarian parolees providing direct social services that supported their successful integration into the community.
She serves on the Advisory Council of African Diaspora Engaging Africa (ADEA), an initiative and Community of Practice that supports and develops nonprofit leaders’ capacity to scale and successfully build up life-changing projects in Africa.
Adeola is an attorney, having earned a law degree at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria and a Master’s degree in International & Human Rights law from Boston College Law School. Her areas of expertise include immigrants/refugees’ rights, grant writing, program development & strategic planning.
She lives in the Hyde Park/Mattapan area of Boston with her husband and two children.
