Dorchester Community Center Project

Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 7C, §§ 44-57, the City of Boston’s Public Facilities Department (PFD), is requesting statements of qualifications (SOQ) from firms to perform “Design Services” to develop a new Dorchester Community Center of approximately 53,000 gross square feet, with a construction budget of approximately $50,000,000 dollars.

The scope of work includes development of Chapter 149 construction documents and construction administrative services. Design team must include all engineering disciplines and services identified in the detailed request for qualifications (RFQ). The facility will meet the City of Boston’s Zero Net Carbon standard. Community engagement will include meetings, presentations and youth workshops.

The project will be performed under M.G.L. c.149, §§ 44A-44J.

A program for the project has been developed and is available with the detailed request for qualifications.

The Dorchester Community Center Project’s Application Package will be available beginning January 23, 2023, and may be obtained by requesting access via email to bid.info@boston.gov. Completed SOQ packages (one copy and two flash drives) must be clearly identified with the project title: Dorchester Community Center – Project #7291 on the outside of the sealed envelope. SOQ must be returned by February 13, 2023, no later than 12 p.m. to the Bid Room located at 1010 Massachusetts Ave., Annex, Boston, MA 02118.

All technical questions are to be submitted to PFD’s Bid Counter by email at bid.info@boston.gov on or before February 2, 2023, by 2 p.m. No technical questions will be accepted after that time. Final questions and answers will be posted via an addendum at least 48 hours prior to the submission deadline.
